A number of your clients may want water filtration and/or softening installed. The focus can be on preventing damage to the home plumbing infrastructure, family wellness or both. A magnificent new kitchen or luxury bathroom is not complete without addressing water quality and purity. Water systems require sufficient space and other considerations so early planning is really important. The best location is next to the water meter in a correctly sized closet rather than an overheated utility room. For town drain, a p-trap should be available or a 3/4” PVC pipe leading to a p-trap elsewhere in the basement.

For homes on septic, planning is needed to determine the best location for drain to exterior. All pure water and drain lines must be run and inspected before basement ceilings are closed in. Electrical outlets are also needed. Reverse Osmosis or other types of higher purity filters, should also be located in the meter room and under a sink only as a last resort. We have higher purity cooking – drinking water systems that provide 5-8 GPM and can be plumbed exclusively to the cold water side of the main kitchen sink faucets, pot filler, steam oven and ice maker.
